Student visa essentials
As an international student, it is important to:
- Maintain a valid student visa
- Maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- Remain enrolled full-time unless approved otherwise
- Keep your Australian residential address up to date
- Make satisfactory academic progress
- Seek advice if your circumstances change
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Maintaining valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a requirement of your student visa and helps cover the cost of medical and hospital care while studying in Australia.
Transfer and release applications
International students who wish to transfer to another institution prior to completing six months of study in their principal program must apply for a release. Refer to the National Code for details and note that there are limited circumstances when a release may be granted.
All students must read the Student Transfer Policy and our Compassionate or compelling circumstances information prior to submitting an Application for Release.
