How to apply for credit
Whether you are a future student planning to apply to study at Bond, or a current student progressing through your degree, you may be eligible for credit based on your previous study or work experience.

If you are considering studying at Bond
If you are applying to study at Bond and would like to receive credit for prior learning, you can follow the process below to apply for credit as part of your application.
Applying for credit in three steps:
- Submit your application to study at Bond University through our online application system.
- If you intend to apply for credit, ensure that you complete the section titled ‘Advanced Standing and Credit Transfer’ on the online application form. Remember to submit all relevant documentation to support assessment of your credit application.
- As part of the admission process, your application will be reviewed for any eligible transfer of credit into your chosen Bond course.

Eligibility for credit
Bond University recognises the value of prior learning and experience. If you have studied at another institution or gained relevant experience through work, you may be eligible for credit towards your chosen program of study. This includes formal education as well as informal or non-formal learning, such as professional training courses and on-the-job experience.

When to apply for credit
You should request a Credit Assessment when you apply for entry to Bond University. You can request credit by selecting the relevant option when applying for entry into your chosen Bond University course. This allows the university to evaluate your prior learning and include any eligible credit in your offer to study at Bond. Be sure to apply as early as possible to ensure your credit can be assessed before your course begins.

Credit for Formal Learning Documentation:
- Academic Transcripts: Provide official copies of your academic transcripts of any prior study.
- Subject Learning Outcomes: Include documents detailing the learning outcomes for each subject for which you are seeking credit. These documents should be specific to the period you studied each subject and include the assessment requirements for the subject.
- Authorized translations if the transcript and subject outlines are not in English
Credit for Informal/Non-Formal Learning Documentation:
- Up-to-date CV/Resume: Submit a current CV or resume to provide an overview of your work history. It is important that your CV/Resume shows what roles that you have previously held with descriptions of responsibilities of each role.
- Reference Letters: Provide letters from employers detailing your role and responsibilities.
- Personal Statement: Write a statement explaining how you have achieved the learning outcomes of the subject for which you are seeking credit.

If you are a current Bond student
If you are currently studying and want to apply for credit for upcoming subjects based on prior study or experience, you will need to follow the below process.
Applying for credit in five steps:
- Select the link below to access the Current Student application portal.
- Use your Bond student credentials to log in.
- Any subjects completed previously at Bond will pre-fill into the credentials area; check all data and edit if necessary. Additional credentials can be added - be sure to include all necessary documents to avoid any delays in processing. Select the option for “Important documentation to include” below for more information.
- Both in progress and admitted future programs will be available in the courses section. You will need to select the course and provide credit suggestions.

If you have undertaken study at another institution such as through University or TAFE, you could be eligible for credit towards your chosen program of study at Bond University. You may also be eligible for recognition of prior learning achieved through work experience or other informal and non-formal learning such as on the job training, micro-credentials, and training courses.

If you are a continuing student and believe you may be eligible for credit, it is important to apply as soon as possible. To do this, complete the application form and submit it along with the required documentation. If you are seeking credit for a subject you plan to undertake in the upcoming semester, submit your application at least three weeks before the semester begins. This ensures there is enough time to process your application and provide an outcome before the census date.
