New Colombo Plan Scholarship 2027

Australian Government Initiative

Study and undertake internship in the Indo-Pacific region with one of Australia’s most prestigious undergraduate scholarships – funded by the Australian Government and supported by Bond University.

VIEW 2026 Guidelines

Scholarship value up to*

  • $30k tuition fees (host institution)
  • $10k In-Country Language Training
  • $3k/mo monthly living stipend
  • $3k travel allowance
  • $3k established allowance
  • $3k mental health support

Total package: up to $107,000 AUD*

*Based on 2026 NCP Scholarship Guidelines. Also includes health and travel insurance and a dedicated case manager. 

    • Australian citizen, not a citizen/permanent resident of the proposed host location 
    • Enrolled in a Bachelor or Bachelor Honours Degree at an Australian university campus
    • Aged 18–30 (non-Indigenous) or 18–35 (Indigenous) on 1 January 2027
    • Not a previous NCP Scholarship recipient (prior Mobility Grant holders can still apply)
    • Scholarship must commence between 1 January and 15 December 2027
    • Must have completed at least one semester at Bond before applying
    • Not a DFAT employee administering the NCP 
    • Applicants must be officially enrolled in an eligible undergraduate degree program at Bond. Please find information on restricted programs, here.
    • Applicants must ONLY choose Bond University’s Exchange partners as their Host Institution. Explore exchange institutions here.
    • Applicants must have three or four electives and/or optional subjects available in their program to take on during their NCP study component  
    • Students must have successfully completed at least one semester at Bond before applying.
    • Applicants must have achieved a Cumulative Percentage Average (CPA) of at least 75%. Students are expected to maintain this average until they depart
    • Students must have completed  at least two semesters of study before departure.
    • Students are required to maintain full time enrolment at Bond and at the host institution while completing their study component. 
    1.  Register your interest
      Sign up via the EOI link and attend the information session  
       
    2. Attend an information session
      At the information session you will receive an internal EOI form to be considered a nominee. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and leadership potential.  
       
    3. Shortlist nominees    
      Bond Partnership/Exchange team will review the expression of interest and shortlist students for nomination, you will be notified by email.  
       
    4. Apply to DFAT 
      Nominated students submit a full online application to DFAT with their Scholarship Program Plan
       
    5. Interview and selection 
      Shortlisted students are interviewed by DFAT and country representatives, with scholars announced in November 
    • Check your program has room for overseas study via Exchange Team
    • Research Bond’s Exchange Indo-Pacific partners that suit your academic requirements
    • Consider how long you’d like to study abroad and the total scholarship duration
    • Reflect on your leadership experience, community engagement, and regional connection
    • Visit the Academic Skills Centre for help writing your Application  
    • Join application tip seminar hosted by Exchange and Bond University NCP Alumni
