Bond University’s School of Psychology has earned a reputation as a leader in postgraduate teaching and research.  It offers the full suite of psychology qualifications required to gain registration as a practising psychologist; all of which are accredited by the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).

Bond offers the fastest pathway to your career as a registered practising psychologist. Complete the full 6-year pathway in just 4 years and 8 months.

Postgraduate psychology study options

  • Bond’s Master of Professional Psychology and Master of Psychology (Clinical) ensures graduates are equipped with advanced research, ethical and clinical skills. Upon completion of either programs, graduates can apply for general registration with the Australian Heath Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Note: Applicants will need to have completed the accredited four-year sequence of a Bachelor’s degree and a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science or the Honours year.  Students will also need to apply for provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) before commencing the master’s program.

  • The Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Bridging) is the first step on that pathway for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than psychology (non-cognate). It is also an alternative for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology but have not met the entry criteria for Fourth Year programs (cognate).

The Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Bridging) is equivalent of the first three years of the six-year psychology training pathway.  With Bond’s accelerated three-semesters-per-year timetable, you can complete the cognate option in just eight months (eight subjects taken over two semesters) and the non-cognate option in one year (10 subjects over three semesters).

  • Master of Psychology (Clinical)

My career ambition was to become a Clinical Psychologist and Bond enabled me to pursue this path. I gained my registration as a psychologist through the Master’s program. In an academic sense, it is such a nurturing environment and so many different avenues to get support and assistance if needed. The training and development we were provided facilitated the growth and development of my skills. My time at Bond has allowed me to commence by dream career and I am now working as a Clinical Psychologist.
