About this program

The Bachelor of Creative Arts is a future-focused degree for students who want to develop a distinctive creative practice while building the professional skills needed to thrive in evolving creative industries.

Grounded in creativity, ideation and creative enterprise, you will develop depth in a chosen Creative Arts Specialisation, Digital Media, Creative Writing Practice or Social Media Practice, while critically engaging with creative works and media across disciplinary contexts, and collaborating with peers from diverse creative fields. You will extend your studies through a Complementary Specialisation, which may be a second Creative Arts Specialisation, a Professional Major, or a Humanities or Business Major. For example, a creative entrepreneur may pursue business, a thriller writer might study criminology, or a documentary maker might study international relations.

The program emphasises professional readiness, including digital literacy, pitching, communication, project management and an understanding of freelance, embedded and entrepreneurial creative pathways. You will learn to create original works, craft compelling narratives and engage audiences across platforms and media technologies, building a portfolio and gaining real-world experience through industry-aligned projects, internships or advanced studio subjects. You will graduate as an adaptable and culturally aware creative professional, ready for careers in writing, media production, content creation, communication, creative consultancy and emerging roles across the creative and cultural sectors.

What you'll be studying

  • Year 1

In your first year, you will develop interpersonal and employability skills – communication, leadership, ethics – through Bond’s unique core subjects and the Beyond Bond program that are part of every undergraduate degree. You will also be introduced to creative writing subjects to develop a range of foundation skills in creative thinking and narrative. Additionally, you will be able to choose two majors as part of your degree program: one Creative major option, and one Humanities or Business major option from the list of approved university majors.
