Over the last 7 years, Bond University has hosted a number of Professional Development Days for high school teachers, focusing on the QCAA Psychology syllabus. In collaboration with our leading Psychology Professors at Bond, we look forward to hosting this event again in April, 2026.

Join this interactive session to gain practical, science-backed strategies that capture attention and improve retention across disciplines. | 10.20am | Session 2 Part I: Statistics in Psychology – A Hands-On Approach in JASP (Part I) Dr Megan Lee and Dr Daniel McKeon In part one of this series, we will experience the process of psychological research from developing hypotheses through to entering data into JASP, cleaning the data, analysing descriptive statistics, and interpreting what they mean about our population. |

| 1:30pm | Session 2 Part II: Statistics in Psychology – A Hands-On Approach in JASP (Part II) Dr Megan Lee and Dr Daniel McKeon In part two of this series, we will move on to conducting inferential statistics to discover if we have met our hypotheses. We will learn about associations and relationships through correlation analysis, the differences between groups using t-tests, and predictions through linear regression. |
| 2.45pm | Session 3: Implementing Interactive Activities in Psychology (Learning and Behaviour, Cognitive Psychology, Biological Basis of Behaviour, Social Psychology) Dr Douglas Angus and Dr Anchal Garg In this session, Dr Anchal Garg and Dr Douglas Angus will demonstrate three interactive activities that teachers can use to illustrate psychological principles and theories central to the discipline and the psychology curriculum. These activities focus on student interaction, engagement, and application of theory to actual scenarios. Areas covered include classical conditioning and learning, memory, and social influence. |
