Blues in Bull Sharks' sights

Bond QFA men

Our QFA men face their biggest test of the season when they renew their rivalry with Coolangatta for the preliminary final at the Canal this Saturday. The Bull Sharks have had the better of the Blues this season, winning three of their four clashes, with the other ending in a draw. The equation is simple: win, and a ticket to the big dance awaits.

The opposition

We meet a team we ran into only a few weeks ago now although under different circumstances with the stakes being far more extreme. Coolangatta will look significantly different from our last meeting given they welcome back a number of players back into their team from injury. We will and must take confidence from the fact that we beat them by close to 100 points although we are very cautious of a stacked and motivated team that are wanting revenge.

The challenge

Our biggest challenge this week which we feel we have during a solid and reflective week on the track is to expel any disappointment from our loss last weekend against Burleigh. We have reviewed hard and moved past it and are incredibly dialled in for this weekend. The one thing about our game when you get another chance is embrace that and right some wrongs and we have no doubt this will be the case this weekend.

Shuffling the magnets

At this stage we will go in unchanged which is terrific and something that hasn’t happened all season.

The focus

Like every week, get away to a strong start build scoreboard pressure and limit the oppositions’ ability to score through our manic pressure. We know we have talent on every line, in finals its about bringing the heat and when the opportunity presents make sure we score.

Ones to watch

Our coaches will be watching everyone this week as the only way we advance to a grand final is everyone playing their role. It’s a known fact and simple play your role and we win, simple.

Final word

We have had the best week thus far on the track we have had all season with the boys super excited about the opportunity that is in front of them – we can wait until Saturday, Bring it on!
