Margaret Douglas Medical Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

• be Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander
• meet the program prerequisites as per the Bond University Medical Program

Selection criteria

The Indigenous Pathway into the Medical Program will be automatically initiated once you identify on your QTAC application form that you are of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Determining which applicants are offered a position into the Medical Program and the awarding of the single full fee-paying scholarship will be based on:

• Academic ability
• Psychometric testing
• Multi-Mini Interview (MMI)
• Indigenous Community-Based Interview

The Indigenous pathway into the Bond University Medical Program will be automatically initiated once you identify on your QTAC application form that you are of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent.

The Bond Medical program has two intakes; in May 2024 and September 2024. Applications for both intakes are via the January QTAC application process.

First Nations applicants who meet the requisite criteria for the Bond University Medical Program will be contacted by Bond University and invited to attend an Indigenous Community-Based Interview.

As part of Bond University Policy, Confirmation of Indigeneity is required in order to apply for the Bond University First Nations Medical Scholarship. The Office of Admissions from Bond University will contact all eligible applicants requesting Confirmation of Indigeneity documentation by email. This documentation needs to be provided within 14 working days from the initial request by the Office of Admissions.

The Confirmation of Indigeneity document may be a signed, written and stamped statement from an authorised officer of an Aboriginal Heritage Association, Aboriginal Corporation or Land Council in the community where you live or have lived.

Yes! We encourage you to apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. You will only be considered for the scholarships you have applied for so ensure you have included them all in your application before you submit it!

If you are applying for more than one scholarship with different application closing dates, it is important to submit your scholarship application form by the earliest scholarship closing date.

QTAC applications open on Thursday, 11 January 2024 and close on Thursday, 25 January 2024.
