Doctorate programs at Bond

Similar to a research master’s program, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Bond University allows engaged students looking to enhance their understanding of a particular area to complete specialised, self-driven research with the support of a knowledgeable supervisor. Doctoral studies, however, are a higher-level offering that require entrants to have already completed an honours degree or research master’s program. PhDs also necessitate a longer course of study, completed in up to 48 months (4 years).

Doctoral studies through a PhD will equip the candidate with excellent independent research skills and methodological capacity, and can lead to careers in both academia and research. As part of the Doctor of Philosophy, students must submit an 80,000-word thesis.

Bond offers the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program across all faculties and a variety of research areas. There are also two specialist programs available – the Doctor of Legal Science (SJD) and the Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) – that have their own unique entry requirements, durations, and outcomes.
