The property sector is Australia’s largest industry and second largest employer. Fulfilling the residential and non-residential needs of Australia continues to remain a priority and requires employers to hire graduates with the capabilities and skills to work in a dynamic and unpredictable market. Now more than ever, graduates must combine their knowledge and skills with the advancements in technology to remain competitive.

Outcomes

Certified property valuer

Certified property valuers estimate property or land values for sale or rental purposes, estimate the value of land and the buildings on the land before it is redeveloped, and estimate the cost of rebuilding for insurance purposes. Projected job growth in five years. The median annual salary in Australia is $according to Seek (2021).

Valuation manager

Leadership of valuation team, alongside development and implementation of strategic projects and planning. Valuations manager roles in Australia are typically advertised between $120k and $130k according to Seek (2021).

Internationally recognised qualifications

The Master of Valuation and Property Development (Professional) is professionally recognised nationally and internationally by leading industry bodies including Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Australian Property Institute (API), and Valuers Registration Board Queensland (VRBQ).

Students with a related undergraduate degree will qualify for registration with the Australian Property Institute as a certified practising valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland, and New South Wales Fair Trading (conditional on meeting professional practice requirements).

Students with a related undergraduate degree who complete the relevant Property Valuation subjects as electives will qualify for registration with the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland.
