Consumer and Community Involvement in Health and Medical Research: New Expectations, New Opportunities
Join us for an engaging panel discussion exploring the NHMRC's new Statement on Consumer and Community Involvement in Health and Medical Research and what it means for the future of health research in Australia.
As expectations for meaningful consumer and community involvement continue to evolve, researchers are increasingly being called upon to partner with consumers throughout the research process. This event will examine the opportunities, challenges, and benefits of these collaborations, while highlighting the critical role that lived experience plays in shaping impactful, relevant, and inclusive research.
The discussion will feature members of the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare's (IEBH) Consumer Advisory Group (CAG), who will share their perspectives on effective partnerships and discuss what meaningful involvement looks like in practice. Attendees will also hear real-world examples of successful consumer-researcher collaborations and gain insights into how these partnerships can strengthen research quality, relevance, and impact.
