Freedom of speech remains one of the most debated issues in contemporary Australian society. This panel discussion will explore current challenges and emerging developments in the regulation of speech, including public discourse on the Middle East, social media restrictions, hate speech laws, and efforts to address misinformation and disinformation.
Bringing together leading researchers and emerging scholars from the Faculty of Law, this discussion will explore the legal, social and human rights dimensions of freedom of speech in Australia.
Following the discussion, attendees are invited to stay for a networking lunch and continue the conversation with fellow researchers and colleagues.
