SPNL11-112: Spanish in Business and Media


This subject is designed for students who have completed Spanish Language and Culture or equivalent subjects. The aims of this subject are to further develop students' awareness and understanding of Spanish speaking societies and cultures, focusing on the topics related to business and the media. Using a content and language integrated approach, the subject introduces students to more complex communicative structures and develops communicative competence in the Spanish language.

Learning outcomes

1. Recognise, evaluate and compare cultural differences on issues discussed in the media and related to conducting businesses in the Spanish-speaking world and other cultures.
2. Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information about matters related to work, study, and personal interests.
3. Apply knowledge and skills to further your knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.
4. Work collaboratively with your peers to improve your use of the Spanish language.
