French in Business and Media is designed for students who have completed French Language and Culture or equivalent subjects. The aim of this subject is to further develop your awareness and understanding of French speaking societies and cultures, focusing on the French business and media. Using a content and language integrated approach, the subject enhances students’ pre-intermediate communicative competence in the French language.

1. Identify, analyse, evaluate and communicate with the pre-intermediate proficiency level of the French language and transmit broad theoretical knowledge about its use in the French Business and Media. 2. Independently and in teams, generate and transmit solutions to unpredictable and sometimes complex problems related to the use of the French language in Business and Media. 3. Apply the knowledge and understanding of the French language in Business and Media to professional work and/or further learning, demonstrating well-developed judgement and responsibility.
Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Students who do not possess this prior knowledge are strongly recommended against enrolling and do so at their own risk. No concessions will be made for students’ lack of prior knowledge.
