This subject is designed for students who have completed FRNL11-101 or equivalent courses. The aim of this subject is to further develop your awareness and understanding of French speaking societies and cultures, focusing on business and media, and to introduce you to more complex communicative structures. Using a content and language integrated approach, this subject will introduce you to various aspects of business and media in French speaking countries while developing your communicative competence in the French language.

1. Recognise, evaluate and compare cultural differences on issues discussed in the media and related to conducting businesses in the French-speaking world and other cultures.
2. Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information about matters related to work, study, and personal interests.
3. Apply knowledge and skills to further your knowledge of the French language and culture.
4. Work collaboratively with your peers to improve your use of the French language.
Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Students who do not possess this prior knowledge are strongly recommended against enrolling and do so at their own risk. No concessions will be made for students’ lack of prior knowledge.
