Professional biography
Chris Bilson has recently joined Bond University as a Senior Teaching Fellow in Finance. Prior to taking this position, Chris was a senior lecturer at The Australian National University (ANU), during which time he held a number of administrative positions, including convenor of each of the Honours, Masters and PhD programs in Finance. Chris holds a PhD in Finance and his area of expertise lies in International Finance, Asset Pricing and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Chris has published in a number of journals including the International Review of Finance; the Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting; Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Australian Journal of Management and Accounting & Finance. He has also co-authored several editions of the text Investments: Concepts and Applications and has presented at conferences and institutions both domestically and internationally.
Research interests
My research agenda is primarily in the areas of International Finance (spanning asset pricing models, parity conditions, capital market integration and emerging stock markets), Investments (including funds management, trading strategies and computational finance (such as momentum and sentiment analysis); and political risk management) and Corporate Finance (both domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions). My other research interests are in the financial education space, particularly in relation to indigenous financial literacy.
