The program not only covers the to-be-expected topics of 3D BIM, 4D BIM (scheduling) and 5D BIM (cost), it also addresses the industry-identified subjects of Intellectual Property Rights in the BIM environment, design for energy efficiency, consideration during design of post-completion facilities management, and use of BIM in integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In other words, it addresses all aspects of the buildingSMART Australasia BIM Framework, and more, to better position you in the construction and infrastructure environment of the future.
To complement the BIM management skills taught, this program also presents cutting-edge coverage of the core principles of Lean Construction, which can position you to lead your contracting organisation to reduce costs and increase profits using the strategic and methodical elimination of all manner of waste during the design and construction process. This cutting edge program has been designed in strong collaboration with industry to assist construction and other built environment professionals to upskill in order to comply with the stringent practice requirements being demanded by government and knowledgeable private sector clients regarding the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction Practice (Lean) and Integrated Project delivery (IPD) in optimised construction project delivery. The course is the equivalent of forty post graduate credit points. To meet the requirements of industry professionals, the program is delivered by a series of micro-credentialed modules, each comprising a two day learning intensive and a one day learning intensive, and has the objective of preparing industry professionals to be better qualified to work in their professions as BIM, Lean and/or IPD managers, rather than as specialist IT specialist technicians for the niche areas of the technologies covered by the curriculum. The program components have been designed to align with the BIM Framework of buildingSMART Australasia, the open standards of buildingSMART International, the principles espoused by the Lean Construction Institutes of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and internationally recognised principles of IPD. The below fees are based on the total estimated program fee. Fees each semester may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester.

When considering the fees associated with your studies, keep in mind that Bond’s accelerated schedule means you can finish your degree sooner and be out in the workforce up to a year earlier than most other universities.
This time saving also represents a substantial reduction in accommodation and living costs, plus a full year of extra earnings.
Tuition fees are subject to change on an annual basis and will be charged at the appropriate fee for the year of enrolment.
* Note: for students commencing January 2021 the University has held the 2020 tuition fee amount in recognition of the current circumstances, with 2021 fees effective only from the University’s May 2021 semester.

Credit for prior study
Subject credits may be awarded for previous studies. To apply for credits, you will need to submit academic transcripts including detailed subject outlines/course descriptions for each relevant subject and/or certified copies of testamurs to the Office of Future Students. The Queensland Government recently decided that all infrastructure projects costing more than $50m are to be delivered using Building Information Modelling.
This is just one indicator that the design and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects is moving to another level, and that means opportunity can be expected to increase. Increasingly, clients are requiring that their medium and large construction and infrastructure projects be delivered using Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery systems.
