Government Announcement: The Australian Government has announced changes to the professional, education and ethical standards of financial advisers. The new requirements will commence on 1 January 2019. From this date, new advisers will be required to hold a relevant degree before they are eligible to commence the supervision year and to sit the exam. Existing advisers will have two years, until 1 January 2021, to pass the exam and five years, until 1 January 2024, to reach a standard equivalent to a degree. Bond Business School’s Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Finance and Master of Financial Management meet the requirements for professional recognition with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (RG146 compliance), providing students with a degree that meets the requirements to practice.
