GMBA70-308: Cybersecurity for Managers

Description

Managers are faced with the reality a successful cyber-attack can be an extinction event for a business. The attacker has all the advantages, and the business must be constantly vigilant. This subject seeks to provide an education for executives where they can confidently involve themselves in planning cyber security for the organisation, understand the current cybercrime environment, and plan for the response.   It introduces students to the cyber environment they operate in as individuals and as organisation. It further introduces them to prepare a cyber security plan, and an incident response plan for the day the attackers are successful.  Students will develop a greater awareness of the environment of the internet and the aggressive nature of attackers and technology and thereby lead their organisation to improved protection approaches.

Learning outcomes

  1. Analyse the cyber environment they operate within and the cybercriminals who seek to exploit individuals and organisations at a human and technical level.
  2. Explain the value of a cyber security plan the value of a cyber security plan and demonstrate knowledge in its foundation and planning.
  3. Explain the value of an incident response plan and demonstrate knowledge in its foundation and planning.
  4. Evaluate current and emerging technology within our society and its impact on individual and organisational cyber security.
