Judge John Newton Mooting Scholarships

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:

• Have participated in the Bond University National High School Mooting Competition.
• Achieve a minimum of ATAR 92.00 or IB Diploma 34.
• Hold a demonstrated record of leadership, initiative and service to your school and/or community.  
• Meet the standard entry requirements for your chosen program of study. 

If you meet the eligibility criteria for this scholarship, we encourage you to apply by following the below steps:

1. Complete the Bond University Study Application Form to lodge your application for your chosen program. Learn more about this process.
2. Complete the Bond University Scholarship Application Form. Simply use the same log-in details as used for your study application and enter 'scholarship' in the keyword field on the Start an Application tab.

You must complete and submit your scholarship application before the application closing date as no late scholarship applications will be considered! 

Yes! As a Judge John Newton Mooting Scholarship applicant, you will be required to submit the following documents as part of your scholarship application:

• Evidence of your leadership, initiative, and service to your school and/or community. It is a COMPULSARY component of your application to use our Summary of Achievements template to present this evidence. You will need to complete all sections of the template provided and upload it as one Word or PDF document, to your scholarship application. 
  Your application CANNOT be considered if you provide your evidence in any other form, such as a personal CV or resume. 
• A School reference. As part of your application, you will be asked to provide your career advisor's details so please have these on hand. We will follow-up with them directly to request a reference.
• Copies of certificates from the Bond University National High School Mooting Competition.
• A personal statement (max 500 words) that reflects on your participation in the Bond University High School Mooting Competition, including what you learnt about yourself during the competition, and what you learnt about the law and about advocacy. You should also reflect generally on your interest in the law and legal advocacy. 

Yes! We encourage you to apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. This should all be done in the one scholarship application form. You will only be considered for the scholarships you have applied for so ensure you have included them all in your application before you submit it!

If you are applying for more than one scholarship with different application closing dates, it is important to submit your scholarship application form by the earliest scholarship closing date.
