Master of Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery

What can you do with your degree?

The Queensland Government recently decided that all infrastructure projects costing more than $50m are to be delivered using Building Information Modelling.

This is just one indicator that the design and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects is moving to another level, and that means opportunity can be expected to increase. Increasingly, clients are requiring that their medium and large construction and infrastructure projects be delivered using Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery systems. Bond’s suite of postgraduate programs in Building Information Modelling ((BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) has been designed to prepare you to serve the immediate and long-term needs of government and industry as they continue to develop infrastructure and construction projects for the benefit of the community.

Outcomes

BIM project manager

The BIM project manager (PM) has a solid knowledge of all aspects of BIM and accordingly is proficient at managing all specialist professionals who are required to work on complex projects in the increasingly important full BIM design and construction environment. A BIM PM understands the complexities of intellectual property rights in the BIM environment, the use of not only model-generated documents and files, but also the application of augmented reality and virtual reality software to those files.

BIM (schedule) consultant

A BIM schedule consultant has a solid overview knowledge of all aspects of BIM and an in depth understanding of the use of specialist software to get the best possible schedule outputs using BIM data for specific projects. The BIM schedule manager is an important member of all project teams preparing documentations for complex BIM centric projects.

5D BIM (cost) consultant

A 5D BIM consultant is an expert in cost management in the BIM environment, and uses specialist cost management software, combined with a solid understanding of software from other specialist areas of the BIM environment to contribute to superior outcomes in BIM-centric design and construction on large and/or complex projects. The BIM cost manager is an important member of all project teams preparing documentations for complex BIM centric projects.

Program learning outcomes

Program Learning Outcomes provide a broad and measurable set of standards that incorporate a range of knowledge, skills and abilities that will be achieved on completion of the program. These outcomes will help you determine whether this program aligns with your professional pathway, career and learning goals.
