The Library offers borrowing and access to online resources as well as computers and printing in the Library. You can also book study rooms for group work.

Through Ask a Librarian, personal consultations, and our FAQs, you’ll find expert guidance tailored to your needs. Our team is ready to help you build skills, boost confidence, and make the most of everything the Library has to offer—because your success is our priority.

Ask a librarian

The Library can assist you with accessing and searching the Library’s resources. Ask us in person at the service desks or via the Ask A Librarian page for help with:

  • Finding books, articles and other resources for an assignment
  • Accessing resources for your subjects including textbooks and readings
  • Learning to navigate and get the most out of the different databases
  • Setting up and using reference management software such as EndNote, Mendeley or RefWorks

Information and research skills

Self paced courses and training

The Library has developed in collaboration with the Academic Skills Centre, some online self-paced courses, and offers classes to develop your information skills. Classes cover topics like reference management software and evaluating information sources. These skills are important work-place skills after you graduate.

These activities are Beyond Bond eligible.

Your library account

 All students have a library account in Library Search. You can use your account to:

  • Borrow items - automatic renewals if items are not requested
  • Place requests:
    • click & collect
    • scanned articles or chapters
    • loans from other libraries
  • Save records and searches
  • Monitor due dates of loans, and the status of any requests
  • Use the AI search assistant

Finding spaces, facilities and books

  • Assigned Textbooks

    Finding out which textbooks are assigned is often the first question new students ask us about in the Library. Your subject outline must identify any assigned textbooks - check the Resources tab of the outline for details.

    Many textbooks have eBook access provided by the Library. And, you can borrow textbooks from the Library's Reserve Collections. Shelf locations and links are usually on a Resource List in your iLearn subject site.

    Resource Lists

    Textbooks, journal articles, book chapters, and other readings for your subject are available online through your subject’s Resource List. 

    Resource lists for each subject are embedded in your iLearn subject sites via the Books and Tools link or a link in the site itslef. You can also find them in the MyBond app. Lists are accessible from the subject start date - which is usually in orientation week.

    Resource Lists provide great benefits for students:

    • View all  your subject resources in one place
    • Access directly from the subject site in iLearn
    • Engage with the list by commenting and suggesting resources
    • Access ebooks, articles, websites and digitised readings directly from the list – no need to find them in Library Search or a database first
    • Keep private notes about readings

  • The Library collection includes over 500,000 titles.

    Browsing the shelves is an excellent way to get an overview of the kinds of topics covered by the Library's collections.

    But there are so many rows! Where to start?

    The interactive Library maps provide a way to locate which floors and rows contain books on a topic. Or, maybe you just want to see where the board games are.

    Searching

    Library Search is where you can search for titles our physical collections and most of our online resources. We have a huge variety of online resources.

    Tip: Look out for the maps integrated into Library Search. The map it buttons open up the floor plan, showing you which level it is on, and the row number.

    Reserve collections

    Reserve collections of high-demand items like textbooks, are maintained in both the Main and Law Libraries with shorter loans for equitable access.

    3-hour loans and 7-day loans are available in the Reserve Collection in the Law Library, and in the Main Library 3-hour loans are available in the Reserve Collection, with 7-day loans found in the General Collection. The collections include textbooks and audiovisual items recommended by lecturers.

  • Interactive maps

    Discover the Libraries and Multimedia Learning Centre like never before.

    These maps highlight the full potential of our spaces, with directions and information about printing, scanning, copying, silent study areas, computers.

    Use these maps to locate service points or even where the toilets are.

    Printing services

    Self-service printing, copying and scanning is available. The Print Shop provides specialist printing for more complex requirements or for bulk printing needs.

  • Study rooms

    Students can book study rooms and meeting rooms in the Library and Multimedia Learning Centre for group work, and collaborative projects using our online booking system.

    The Assistive Technology Room in the Main Library is also bookable by eligible students.
