Research interests

I am an applied sport science researcher with an interest in translating physiological and motor learning evidence into practice. My research has focused on the factors affecting youth athletic development, specifically the relationship between foundational athletic movement skills and physical fitness. My broader research interest is in the factors affecting sport performance including the factors influencing the development of physical qualities in athletic populations and how sport skills are acquired during childhood. My research has involved fulfilling grants from the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS-SPIKE) and the Australian Football League and working with collaborators from Cardiff Metropolitan University, La Trobe University, Deakin University, Victoria University and the MSA Research Centre.
