Research interests

I am interested in most aspects of Constitutional Law.  Particular areas of focus include separation of powers, judicial power, and federal financial relations (particularly excise duties).  I am interested in representative government and democracy, particularly issues such as voting eligibility.  I am most concerned to preserve and protect freedom of speech in our society.

I also have a strong interest in civil obligations, in particular tort law and the law of contract.  A particular focus at present is a two-volume work on good faith in contracting environments.  I have published research monographs and refereed journal articles on various aspects of tort law, including fault-based liability and vicarious liability.

I am potentially interested in supervising research in any of these areas.
