In a world facing escalating climate challenges, how can the life of materials, buildings, and cities be reimagined through circular thinking?
This interactive session, hosted by Associate Professor Daniela Ottmann and Maria Fernanda Parenzini, explores Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) not just as a technical metric but as a philosophical and strategic tool to rethink sustainability across scales. The session introduces Sustainability reporting, LCAs, a systems-thinking approach that evaluates embodied energy, material loops, and socio-ecological impacts from cradle to cradle.
Participants will calculate their own carbon-footprint, engage in real-world LCA scenarios, map material journeys, and discuss the roles of designers, engineers, and citizens in shaping future-proof product systems.
Perfect for students, researchers, and practitioners eager to align their work with the principles of ecological integrity and climate justice.
