Wenee 
Yap & Thomas Derricott

Wenee Yap and Thomas Derricott are co-authors of Riding the Unicorn: The Startup Guide You'll Want to Read. Together, they have co-founded and exited two businesses, including Catmosphere – Sydney’s first dedicated cat café – which they launched in just five months following a viral social campaign. Thomas is Entrepreneurship Manager at UNSW Founders and has worked with high-growth startups like Mad Paws and Pearler, while Wenee advises startups and delivers AI training for lawyers. Their work has been recognised with awards in journalism and innovation, and they bring a unique blend of entrepreneurial insight and lived experience to help founders thrive.

Ryan 
Elliott

Ryan Elliott is the CEO and Co-Founder of PARTNAR, a SaaS platform designed as an operating system for the B2B creator economy. With deep expertise in content, creator marketing, and SaaS growth, Ryan brings firsthand experience of building and scaling ventures, having previously raised venture capital to grow PARTNAR. He is passionate about supporting creators and businesses to collaborate more effectively, enabling the next generation of B2B partnerships to thrive. 

Jason Fielding

Jason Fielding is a seasoned sports and entertainment executive with a global career spanning over 25 years. He has collaborated with leading organisations including FIFA, Live Nation, Ferrari, Manchester United, Liverpool FC, Disney, and Warner Music, as well as world-class talent across the US, UK, and Australia. Jason founded The Sound Campaign, Australia’s leading music and entertainment agency, and later served as SVP and Managing Director at Endeavor. Today, he leads Voice Capital, connecting science, culture, and venture capital, and is preparing to launch a stand-alone fund operating at this unique intersection.

Stuart 
Giles

Stuart Giles, co-founder of Icon Cancer Group, Epic Pharmacy Group and the Epic Good Foundation, is the inaugural Founder in Residence of Bond University’s Transformer Program. 

In this pivotal role, Stuart oversees the development of the program, enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities, fostering industry connections, and facilitating funding opportunities for student start-up ventures. 

Michael Metcalfe

Michael Metcalfe is a serial entrepreneur and exited founder who built and sold Kynd, an NDIS tech platform acquired by ASX-listed nib in 2023. From idea to exit, he raised millions, secured grants, built the team, won support from Optus, Amazon, and governments, scaled nationwide and exited in 2025. Previously, he founded Snotels, a European alpine hotel network, and Hoteliyo, advising hotel and resort investors in EMEA and Asia-Pacific. Based on the Gold Coast, he lives for adventures alongside ventures. Michael’s travelled to 46 countries, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, kayaked Patagonia and trekked Everest Base Camp. He’s now enjoying time with family and friends, advising businesses, and setting new goals.

Cathie 
Reid AM

Cathie Reid is an Australian entrepreneur and pharmacist best known as the co-founder of Icon Group, a global provider of cancer care services. With a strong background in healthcare and business, she has played a key role in advancing pharmaceutical and medical services. Reid is also a partner at Arc31, an investment firm focused on innovative healthcare solutions. Her contributions to the industry have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as a Member of the Order of Australia for her leadership in pharmacy and business.

Garth Rydon

Gareth Rydon is a pioneer in the generative AI space, blending human-centered design with cutting-edge technology to transform how small businesses grow. As co-founder of Friyay.ai, Australia’s first generative AI studio, Gareth focuses on empowering “Trailblazer” SMBs – forward-thinking, tech-savvy business leaders adopting AI to stay ahead of the curve. He is passionate about helping businesses harness emerging technology to unlock creativity, efficiency, and competitive advantage, driving meaningful impact across industries.

Juliette Tobias-Webb

Dr Juliette Tobias-Webb is one of Australia’s leading behavioural scientists and a Professor of Practice at the AI and Cyber Futures Institute. She holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge and was recognised as one of Australia’s Superstars of STEM. Dr Juliette has advised global organisations including Mastercard, Citibank, Atlassian, and Deloitte on how to drive behaviour change, harness AI, and lead with impact. She is widely published in neuroscience and psychology, contributes regularly to media such as ABC and the Australian Financial Review, and is known for translating complex science into practical strategies for business and leadership.

Vu Tran

Vu Tran is a Queensland-based tech founder. Originally a GP, he cofounded edtech unicorn Go1, and now is a cofounder of Black Sky Industries, building sovereign rocket motor and missile capability in Australia, OneMRI delivering preventative health via full body MRI and Bloody Good Tests providing on demand private blood testing. He is also on the boards of the Metro South Hospital Health Services, Starboard Maritime Intelligence and ASX Listed PeopleIn. He mentors defence and deep tech startups through the UQ Momentum, UNSW  Defence 10x and LuminaX accelerators.

Baden U'Ren

Baden U'Ren is an award-winning entrepreneurship educator, innovation strategist, and seasoned facilitator with deep ties to Bond University.  With a background in investment banking, private equity, and venture creation, he brings commercial insight and a human-centred approach to every stage he steps onto. Whether MCing, keynoting, or facilitating, Baden is known for his energy, clarity, and ability to spark meaningful conversations that drive action.
