The Abedian Foundation Master of Architecture Award

Overview

The Abedian Foundation generously provides the Abedian Foundation Master of Architecture Award to eligible students in recognition of Dr Soheil Abedian’s longstanding association with Bond University.

These awards are presented based on financial need as assessed by the Abedian Foundation, to selected students wishing to commence the Master of Architecture program at Bond University.

Applications for this scholarship open at 10am (AEST) on Friday, 23 October and close at 11:59pm (AEST) on Sunday, 22 November, 2026.

Being a Master of Architecture Award recipient

As an Abedian Foundation Master of Architecture Award recipient, you will receive 100% tuition remission for a Master of Architecture/Master of Architecture (Professional) to commence in January 2027 only.

As an Abedian Foundation Master of Architecture Award applicant, you will need to demonstrate your experience and skills in architecture through the submission of a high-quality digital portfolio of relevant work. In addition, you must provide a statement and demonstrate, with appropriate documentary evidence, significant financial need.

Am I eligible for this scholarship?

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:

Be currently achieving or have achieved a minimum cumulative percentage average of 65% from a Bond University Bachelor of Design in Architecture, or an equivalent degree from another institution.
Meet the program entry requirements for the Bond University Master of Architecture.

How do I apply for this scholarship?

If you meet the eligibility criteria for this scholarship, we encourage you to apply once applications have opened, by following the below steps:

Complete the Bond University Study Application Form to lodge your application for your chosen program.
Complete the Bond University Scholarship Application Form. Simply use the same log-in details as used for your study application and enter 'scholarship' in the keyword field on the 'Start an Application' tab.

You must complete and submit your scholarship application before the application closing date as no late scholarship applications will be considered!

Do I need to prepare anything for my application?

Yes! As an Abedian Foundation Master of Architecture Award applicant, you will be required to submit the following documents as part of your scholarship application:

A 500-word personal statement outlining why you believe you should be awarded with this scholarship. Your statement should also include documentary evidence of significant financial need. This should be uploaded to your scholarship application as one Word or PDF document.
A digital portfolio submission. You will be asked to include a URL link to your portfolio as part of your scholarship application. View our portfolio tips and guidelines below.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Yes! We encourage you to apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. This should all be done in the one scholarship application form. You will only be considered for the scholarships you have applied for so ensure you have included them all in your application before you submit it!

If you are applying for more than one scholarship with different application closing dates, it is important to submit your scholarship application form by the earliest scholarship closing date.

Save your portfolio to a file sharing platform (e.g. We Transfer or Dropbox).
Save it in PDF format only with a maximum file size of 30mb.
Include your file sharing URL in your scholarship application form, where prompted.
Ensure portfolio demonstrates well-developed creative design skills.
Provide evidence through project work documentation (e.g. photos, drawings, renderings).
Demonstrate overall aesthetic, technical, compositional, and spatial abilities.
Ensure work is conceptually clear and demonstrates rigour.
Ensure graphic clarity and coherence of the portfolio as a visual document.
Clearly explain all work and attributes including where group work was performed.
