How gaming can help kids learn
If you are interested in interactive media you could be learning from Bond University’s gaming expert, Dr Jeffery Brand, who appeared on Studio 10 talking to a panel on the Digital Australia Report 2016 which he recently produced in conjunction with Interactive Games & Entertainment Association, which explores demographics, self-report behaviours and attitudes around digital games in Australia.

Bond University in Minecraft
This is a first introduction to Bond University in Minecraft. Students and staff in the subject, Computer Games Industry and Policy, are working together to create a fully scaled virtual representation of the campus in the world-building game, Minecraft.

Overcoming Glossophobia
Did you know that glossophobia, the fear of public speaking, is cited as the number one fear of the general population? Professor Mike Grenby, who teaches into Journalism and Communication, has delivered a NOW Talk alongside Bachelor of Communication student Rebecca Dipardo about how to overcome this fear and empower yourself to become a more confident speaker.

Students Saxon Cameron and Will Fetke developed Brave Beat, a mobile game for Bravehearts Children’s charities. The app was very successful and was advertised on the stadium screen at Suncorp Stadium during a Bronco’s match that year.

Student Saxon Camera created a mobile game for the RSPCA. The game was developed for the client to raise awareness of cat ownership. The day it was released it went to number one in the Apple App Store and was covered by news outlets world wide including BCC UK and CNN America.

Interactive Media and Design Student Wins New Car in Social Media Competition
Our student Hannah Schultz entered the competition using a technique learnt in MMDE13-340: Animation called Stop Motion, to ultimately win a new Mini Ray (worth $29k) from Mini Australia. "Bond has enabled me to advance my skills and abilities by turning passion into opportunity. More specifically the Animation within my Interactive Media and Design degree, equipped me with the ability to showcase new talents and knowledge. The recognition of MINI Australia has resulted in a prize new MINI and national recognition within my field."

Choose your path with the new Bachelor of Creative Arts
The future belongs to those designing their own path. With a Bachelor of Creative Arts, students can undertake three majors of their choosing, ranging from Communications, Multimedia, Humanities and Business.

Journalism & Film students cover royal visit to Bond
Our Bond University Journalism and Film and Television cohorts had the unique opportunity to film and interview His Royal Highness the Duke of York for the 2017 Pitch @ Palace competition. The Australian regional final event held at Bond University, Gold Coast attracted young entrepreneurs to pitch their start-up ideas. We spoke to Cloe (Journalism) and Maliha (Film) about how they applied skills learnt in the classroom on the day.
