STAND OUT with a qualification in BIM & IPD
Bond’s innovative Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery has been informed by industry and designed to meet the needs of Government and industry. The knowledge you’ll gain is current and relevant to optimally prepare you for anticipated opportunities in Construction and infrastructure development. In the current economic environment Government and private clients alike increasingly are requiring major construction and infrastructure projects to be delivered using modern Building Information Modelling (BIM) within an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment, and this means more career opportunities for appropriately qualified people in those areas of expertise. Bond’s Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery commences with eight micro-credentialled modules covering topics that industry confirmed as being essential to success in the field. Two additional subjects are then reinforced by an intensive and highly practical supervised capstone project to complete the program.
Statement of endorsement:
“Our accreditation experts were impressed by the thoroughness of the Bond University programs’ preparation, the scope, breadth of coverage, structure and the emphasis on practical application of knowledge. They also noted the obvious enthusiasm, level of expertise, experience and academic qualifications of the teaching staff.”
- David Mitchell, Chairperson, buildingSMART Australasia | The Home of BIM
The Bond BIM Difference
In your first semester, you will not only cover the to-be-expected topics of 3D BIM, 4D BIM (scheduling) and 5D BIM (cost) – all essential knowledge areas for a successful career in the management of Building Information Modelling - but also Intellectual Property Rights in the BIM environment, management of design for energy efficiency, consideration during design of post-completion facilities management, and use of BIM in integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – all confirmed by industry leaders as knowledge areas in demand. Combined with knowledge of project process engineering and change, continuous process improvement, advanced Lean Construction and principles of integrated project delivery – all reinforced with that all-important capstone practical project experience - that equates to career opportunity.
This program positions you to contribute significantly to your consulting or contracting organization as a BIM and IPD manager, reducing costs and increasing profits. It provides you with knowledge and practice in the management of in-demand skills, sort after by government and industry – Providing you with a competitive edge in the industry.
- Developed in collaboration with industry to meet demands of government and industry
- Micro-credentials for each of the eight introductory modules plus a Graduate Diploma on successful completion of all program subjects
- Highly practical and interactive learning, with studio based capstone project to reinforce assimilation of knowledge, and convert it to practical application
- All assessment (formative assessment) within course attendance times
About the program
This cutting edge program has been designed in strong collaboration with industry to assist construction and other built environment professionals to upskill in order to comply with the stringent practice requirements being demanded by government and knowledgeable private sector clients regarding the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction Practice (Lean) and Integrated Project delivery (IPD) in optimised construction project delivery. The Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery program prepares students for productive application of their comprehension of relevant BIM/Lean/IPD knowledge in the work environment, for the benefit of projects and their stakeholders.
The program is delivered in intensive mode and has the objective of preparing industry professionals to serve as BIM/Lean/IPD managers. While the course does cover various BIM-related technologies, it does not prepare students to be specialist technicians in the niche areas of the technologies covered by the curriculum. The program includes a capstone subject (20 credit points) in which students will work in teams on a realistic BIM/Lean/IPD project that requires application, analysis and synthesis of complex ‘project’ data.
The program components align with the BIM Framework of buildingSMART Australasia, the open standards of buildingSMART International, the principles espoused by the Lean Construction Institutes of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and internationally recognised principles of IPD Show less

The Queensland Government recently decided that all infrastructure projects costing more than $50m are to be delivered using Building Information Modelling.
This is just one indicator that the design and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects is moving to another level, and that means opportunity can be expected to increase. Increasingly, clients are requiring that their medium and large construction and infrastructure projects be delivered using Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery systems. Bond’s suite of postgraduate programs in Building Information Modelling ((BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) has been designed to prepare you to serve the immediate and long-term needs of government and industry as they continue to develop infrastructure and construction projects for the benefit of the community.
