Graduate Certificate in Building Surveying
The September semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format, with classes designed to support and engage all learners. Whether they’re on campus or abroad, all students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional and personalised learning experience through dynamic and interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.

Intensive mode delivery
Intensive Mode Delivery is a compact and time efficient way to complete a postgraduate qualification with minimal impact on professional and personal lifestyles. Each subject is delivered over two weekends during the semester. There are two sets of three-day sessions per subject, scheduled Thursday to Saturday (approximately six to eight contact hours per day) with a break of four or five weeks between session one and session two of each subject.
Participants will receive 40 hours of combined lectures, discussion groups, case studies and workshops during contact hours. International students are required to be on campus every week.

- Building Controls and Regulation (SDCM71-314)
- Fire Engineering (SDCM71-315)
- Planning and Assessment Processes (SSUD71-300)
- Structures and Materials (SDCM71-316)
Bond University’s teaching methodology involves a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, examinations, projects, presentations, assignments, computer labs and industry projects.
The below fees are based on the total cost, fees may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester.

When considering the fees associated with your studies, keep in mind that Bond’s accelerated schedule means you can finish your degree sooner and be out in the workforce up to a year earlier than if you went to another university.
This time saving also represents a substantial reduction in accommodation and living costs, plus a full year of extra earnings.
Academic entry requirements and work experience
- Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent in a cognate discipline (including but not limited to building surveying, construction/building, quantity surveying, architecture, civil/structural engineering); OR
- Combination of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to any of the qualifications listed in the AIBS Scheme for Assistant Building Surveyor or Building Surveyor Limited, plus six months building surveying experience or three years’ experience in general building; OR
- A combination of qualifications and work experience deemed to be equivalent to the above, as determined by the Faculty.
English language proficiency requirements

Credit for prior study
Subject credits may be awarded for previous studies. To apply for credits, you will need to submit academic transcripts including detailed subject outlines/course descriptions for each relevant subject and/or certified copies of testamurs to the Office of Future Students. How to apply
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Building Surveying program will meet the requirements under the AIBS Framework for the accreditation of Building Surveyor Limited. NSW Fair Trading will recognise graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Building Surveying as meeting the requirements of Building surveyor—restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings).
Bond’s building surveying programs have been accredited by both the AIBS and RICS thereby satisfying the educational requirements for accreditation at the level of Building Certifier Level 2 or 3 in Queensland. Upon gaining accreditation with the AIBS or RICS, graduates may be eligible for a licence as a building certifier with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission. When licensed, graduates may practise In Queensland as building certifiers for local government or as private certifiers.
