Bond Business School’s international recognition as a dual EQUIS and AACSB accredited faculty and one of only seven universities in Australia to offer Actuarial Science programs accredited by the Actuaries Institute makes it a destination of choice for researchers from across the globe.

With access to world-renowned academics in cutting edge disciplines such as big data, statistical analysis, entrepreneurship, governance and more, our cohort of researchers focus on high quality academic, practice-oriented and pedagogical research in all areas of business and management.

Centre for Data Analytics

The centre aims to raise the profile of Bond University in the Big Data Analytics research space.  This will help establish meaningful engagement with organisations, both government and private, which are expected to lead to funding opportunities and joint research collaborations.

Fin Tech Hub

Researchers have access to the cutting edge Fin Tech Hub which is equipped with 40 Bloomberg Terminals – more than any other university in Australia. In addition to real-time market data and trading tools, these terminals house an immense database of historical information on listed companies all over the world: from stock prices and returns through to historical ratios, balance sheets and income statements. As a Bloomberg Experiential Learning partner, Bond Business School offers industry-recognised Bloomberg training, with certified students and researchers granted 24/7 access to the Fin Tech Hub.

Commercialisation Centre

Bond Business School’s Commercialisation Centre is a dynamic incubator of entrepreneurship, ideation, innovation and start-ups. Serving as the nexus between theoretical hypothesis and workplace actuality, it allows researchers to work alongside high profile industry leaders, corporate titans and world renowned academics, facilitating collaborations that extend far beyond the university campus.

Higher degree research (HDR) programs

Bond Business School is home to a diverse international cohort of HDR students engaged in research across a wide range of contexts, methodologies and theoretical foci.

Broadly speaking, candidates’ research projects align with at least one of Bond Business School's three main research pillars. 

HDR research projects currently in progress or recently completed address issues such as sustainable water resource management, ethical investment, forensic accounting, sustainable event management, and many other areas. Eligible candidates also have opportunities to complete industry internships as part of their candidacy.

Research groups

  • Research conducted through the Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise Collective focusses on understanding how entrepreneurship and family ownership impacts on the social and economic value of businesses and organisations in terms of:

    • Start-up activity
    • Corporate entrepreneurship and innovation
    • Continuity practices in established family enterprises
    • Social venturing
    • Institutional contexts such as government, health service providers and other not-for-profit settings.
  • The GAP Research Group’s primary focus is exploring and understanding the multi-faceted nature of business transformation. Our community of scholars draws on the Faculty’s strengths and applies a multidisciplinary lens to examining how businesses and organisations drive and respond to change: how they are embracing non-traditional stakeholders and performance metrics, taking a more long-term view and allowing societally beneficial missions to drive business value. The GAP team applies a vertical framework of society, markets, organisations and individuals to projects structured around the themes of:

    • Purposeful profit – Looking at sustainable value creation through positive or significant shifts in company activity or strategy;
    • People – focussing on individuals and decision-making; 
    • Planet – encompassing positive business actions that benefit the planet.

    Current research grants include: 

    • Australia-Japan Foundation: Increasing the awareness of innovations in fresh food supply chain traceability in Australia and Japan.
    • Hong Kong Research Grants: Capitalizing on affect to foster team creativity: The moderating role of team reflexivity and team identification.
    • The De Beers Group of Companies: Model Development for Financial Assessment of Kimberlite Carbonation Strategies.
    • The United States Studies Centre: Factors Influencing Research Commercialisation Across Australian Universities: Lessons from the USA.
    • CPA: Offshoring of audit work and the implications for audit quality in Australia.
