Graduate ready to stand out

Navigating the ever-changing career landscape can be tricky.

The way we manage our careers is shifting. Industries are evolving. The job market is becoming increasingly competitive. What you do at university has never been more important in setting you apart in the workforce.

That’s where Bond’s Career Development Centre comes in. As a Bond student, you’ll have access to an array of services designed to improve your employability and prepare you to excel after graduation. Featuring a dedicated team of career experts, the goal of the Career Development Centre is simple: ensure that Bond students enter the workforce with the skills, experience and employability to stand out and get started in their careers.

Be one of Australia’s most desirable graduates

  • Australia’s highest employer satisfaction with graduates (2018 Employer Satisfaction Survey)
  • Rated five stars for employability (QS star ratings 2017-2019)
  • Australia’s #1 university for student experience for the past 14 years

The employability equation

What sets graduates apart? Bond’s employability and career services span across four key areas, all of which can be tailored to your career goals and ambitions.

Your time at university isn’t confined to the classroom. The Career Development Centre’s team of qualified experts provide a full suite of personalised guidance services. We can help you explore and define your career path, develop applications and resumes, prepare for interviews and make connections with key employers. In 2018, we facilitated 3,048 consultations with students to assist them with their employability.

We hold more than 50 employer events on campus annually, including workshops, seminars, networking events and an annual Job and Internship Fair to provide further opportunities to grow your network and improve your skills, ensuring you stand out now, and after you graduate.

Beyond Bond is a practical program designed to ensure you’re well placed to achieve your career goals after graduation. It’s a core part of all undergraduate degrees at Bond and allows you to develop skills that will give you a head-start in the workforce.

You’ll have the freedom to design your own Beyond Bond journey throughout your degree. Select from over 220 activities to earn your points and these could include team sport, student associations, internships or relevant work experience. This non-traditional subject also provides you with the support to access extra-curricular industry placements.

Our team of Employment Service Specialists and Business Development Specialists are your placement brokers. We’re here to help you secure internships and placements with Bond’s industry partners. We broker these placements to support your career goals and ensure that they are high quality experiences with the right supervision and support to make the most of an industry experience. In 2018, we brokered 706 placements for students.

Through placements, you can gain valuable experience and career contacts with leading Australian and international employers. We’ll help you source placement opportunities, guiding you through the application process and supporting you throughout your placement and beyond.

Get hands-on experience from day one. Bond’s new Employability Lab initiative gives students the opportunity to gain industry experience throughout their degree, and after they graduate. The CDC joins forces with industry partners to offer students the opportunity to be part of a live case study, hosted on campus.

With the flexibility to complete short term, long term and semester break placements, the Employability Lab equips students with practical experience, based in a supportive environment. The employability lab is open to all Bondies, regardless of the stage of their degree, including study abroad students and Bond alumni.

Impact – launched in May 2019, 24 students working on launch project with Camp Quality, 7 new projects in development for September 2019
