Bond x Turner & Townsend Mentorship and Industry Placement Program

Bond University is proud to launch a transformative new initiative in collaboration with Turner & Townsend, an internationally renowned professional services company, and the global leader in project management, program, cost and commercial management. This unique opportunity bridges the gap between academic study and real-world industry practice, empowering students to apply their knowledge in a dynamic professional environment, while developing skills that set them apart in a competitive job market. 

The Bond University x Turner & Townsend Mentorship and Industry Placement Program connects high-performing undergraduate and postgraduate students in our Project Management programs with seasoned professionals from Turner & Townsend. Through one-on-one mentorship and a paid internship, students will develop their knowledge, refine their career goals, and begin building the networks that will define their future careers.

The program launched in May 2025, marking the beginning of mentor-mentee pairings, placement commencement, and professional development activities. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate as a testament to their dedication, professional growth, and participation in this industry-leading initiative.

This program is designed to further strengthen the vital bridge between academic study and industry practice.

What's involved?

Over two consecutive semesters, selected students will:

  • Complete a minimum of two full days per week with Turner & Townsend.
  • Be paid for their time, gaining valuable industry experience in a supported employment arrangement.
  • Receive personalised mentoring from experienced project management professionals.
  • Engage in structured learning through SMART goal setting, regular progress check-ins, and milestone reflections.
  • Deliver a final presentation showcasing their placement experience and learnings.

  • Under the Mentorship and Industry Placement Program, eligible students from Bond’s Project Management degrees will gain access to mentorship from Turner & Townsend professionals. These experienced mentors will guide students through tailored career conversations, skill development, and industry expectations.

    The program offers real project exposure through paid industry placements two days per week, giving students the chance to apply their learning and observe best-practice consulting in action. In return, Turner & Townsend will gain access to Bond’s top-performing Project Management students, allowing them to identify and nurture future talent.

Eligibility criteria and selection process

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the requirements outlined below:

Selection Process

  1. At the end of each semester, students who meet the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted and contacted by the Discipline Lead for their program.
     
  2. Shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview with a Bond University academic and receive Faculty endorsement. 
     
  3. Students who have received Faculty endorsement will be invited to interview with Turner & Townsend, to demonstrate their communication skills, motivation and cultural fit.
     
  4. The successful student will be notified by their program Discipline Lead, and will be sent a formal offer of employment from Turner & Townsend. They will commence their internship from Week 1 of the next semester. 

    Unsuccessful students will be notified by their program Discipline Lead.

Successful program candidates
