I found the PIPA Program convenient and flexible being online. I enjoyed the Course, the Modules were of great interest covering a vast range of topics relevant to the Industry I am in. The platform was extremely easy to navigate through. The content was informative and to the point without being too extensive in volume or time.

Professional Legal Education

Students engaged with Teacher in class

Foundations of Legal Education is a suite of six online modules focusing on the principles of best practice, history and context of legal education in Australia. It includes an introduction to critical perspectives on legal education and the need for legal education reform in the context of widespread disruption within the legal services sector. The modules commence the development of the participant’s skills in contemporary curriculum and assessment design, and support them in identifying and articulating their philosophy of teaching. Each module includes short videos, study notes, interactive exercises and recommended readings. The first five modules conclude with an online test, and the sixth module requires the submission of a teaching philosophy statement. Some familiarity with the teaching and practice of law in Australia is assumed, but it is anticipated that most participants will not be familiar with educational scholarship and theory.
