ASEAN

Information for Southeast Asian students

At Bond University, we have a long and storied history of welcoming students from Southeast Asian countries into our tight-knit community, and providing them with the necessary skills to stand out in their industry of choice after graduation. Our close proximity to Southeast Asia makes Bond an excellent choice for students from these countries, whether they decide to embark on an incredible career in Australia or back home. Southeast Asian students are highly active and integral members of both the Bond and wider Gold Coast communities, and have been since the first Southeast Asian student commenced at Bond.

Australia for ASEAN Scholarship

Australia for ASEAN Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of leaders from ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste.

Bond University is a proud supporter of this Australian government initiative and has committed to fund three tuition remission scholarships to successful candidates planning to undertake a Masters degree.

Support at every step of the way

Here at Bond, we offer a personalised educational experience that is all about you and your unique aspirations. Our suite of student services has been designed to ensure that as an international student away from home, you feel supported from day one – academically, socially, and in your future career. With on-campus career development services, English and academic support via our Academic Skills Centre, and industry connections embedded in every degree, you will have the tools you need to truly succeed in whatever you do after university.

At Bond, you will...

Graduate ahead of your peers

Here at Bond, we run on an accelerated, three-semester-per-year timetable. This means that an undergraduate degree can be completed in just two years, compared to the requisite three or four at other universities in Australia and around the world. The same goes for our postgraduate degrees. If you are hoping to stay in Australia, you might opt for one of our 92-week professional programs that could potentially qualify you for a post-study work visa.

Enhance your employment

Producing quality graduates is central to our mission here at Bond – it’s why we have been rated #1 in Australia for employer satisfaction for the past three years, according to the Employer Satisfaction Survey. Every Bond student has lifetime access to the Career Development Centre, which can help with securing work experience or a job placement, as well as with honing your skills ready for the workplace. We also provide extensive industry and networking opportunities.

Connect with students and alumni

Something that unites Bond University students is a shared passion for learning, and a drive to succeed in the competitive career landscape. Your peers could one day become your colleagues, so nurture those relationships however you can. Then, upon leaving university, you’ll join our alumni community of over 30,000 graduates. So many successful Bond alumni have returned to Southeast Asia and made names for themselves, establishing their own businesses and accepting high-flying positions at top-tier companies.

Experience personalised learning

At Bond, we do things differently to other universities, offering an individualised approach that centres your learning experience and empowers you to tailor your time at university to your goals. Enjoy small class sizes – our 10:1 student to teacher ratio is one of the lowest in Australia – that facilitate hands-on learning and give you the resources you need to succeed. Our industry-leading academics have an open-door policy that ensures they are always available to provide guidance.
