History and values

In March 2014, a new force entered the Queensland Premier Rugby competition with the official launch of the Bond University Rugby Club. Bond became only the third university in Australia to field a rugby team in Premier competition with the evolution of the Bond University Rugby Club from a partnership which began in 2013 between Bond University and the 17 year old Gold Coast Breakers Rugby Club.

The Bond University Rugby Club represents a partnership that blends the local heritage and experience of the Breakers Rugby Club with the University's strong sporting tradition and professional rugby alliances. Bond University Rugby Club offers a unique pathway for aspiring and talented young rugby players to advance their careers, both on and off the field.

Rugby scholarship

Bond University has joined forces with Wallabies Captain, John Eales AM, to offer this prestigious rugby scholarship which provides the opportunity for an outstanding young rugby union start to be mentored both on and off the field.
