Bond rugby programs
Rugby is a leading sport for men and women at Bond University. It’s national and international reach is a major reason for its status amongst the high performance sports.
The Bond University Rugby program comprises four significant programs which concentrate on athlete development and performance. In recent years, Bond players have represented at every level of Australian rugby – a trend which is now firmly set.
Premier
Bond University Rugby is a member of the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) and is the only Gold Coast based club competing in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition.
Bond University Rugby fields Six teams:
- Two Senior Men's teams: 1st Grade and 2nd Grade
- Three Colts (U20s) teams: Colts 1 - Colts 2 - Colts 3 and
- One Premier Women's XV team in 2020

Sevens
Bond University is one of eight universities participating in the Aon University Women’s Rugby 7’s Series, which is a collaboration between Australian University Sport, the Australian Rugby Union and the competing universities.

Pathway to Premier Program
The Bond University Rugby Pathway to Premier program is a development program aimed to introduce players to the on field / off field standards and training habits required to compete at the elite levels of rugby. The program is designed for rugby players aged 15 – 18 years, from Queensland’s Gold Coast and the Far North Coast region of New South Wales.
