Premier Men
Last Round
L 38-40 v WESTS
The Opposition:
UQ will be coming into the game on a bit of a high after they drew with the previously undefeated brothers last week. So they have obviously improved a lot since we last met them which was in the first round of the competition.
The Challenge
Our challenge at the moment is getting enough fit bodies on the field, as we currently have 21 injured players across our top grades. So it’s trying to get together a competitive team.
Shuffling the magnets
Most of our players are sitting in the injury ward, so our depth is being tested for sure. Everyone has to step up and be where they are needed at the moment.
Ones to watch
Harrison Usher is back from the Reds this weekend, which is very handy for us. Dion Samulea has played a good couple of games the past few weeks so it’s good to see him getting back into form.
The Focus
We need to concentrate on getting our Combinations right. Connectedness will be critical.
Final words
If anyone wants to bring their boots on Saturday, they will get a chance to run.

Premier Women
Last Round
W 26-23 v Wests
The Opposition:
UQ’s last loss was about 5 games ago, and that was against the top of the table, which was Wests, where they lost to them by one try. So it was a pretty close game. They will definitely give us a run for our money.
The Challenge
The opposition's going to be a pretty strong challenge across the board; they've got several players, and I think they've got the highest contingent of representatives players.
Shuffling the magnets
With a lot of our young ones away, there’s going to be an impact throughout midfield and outside backs. So, we're a little bit light on in strike weapon and speed out wide. That has been common for us all year round, though, having a different starting group every week.
Ones to watch
There are definitely some opportunities this week, with a number of players away, for some of our 2nd grade girls to put their hand up and show what they're capable of at this level.
The Focus
The focus this week is on maintaining our position on the ladder. At the halfway point of the competition, both our 1st and 2nd grade women's teams are sitting top of their respective competitions. So for us, it's all about making sure we maintain a top 2 finish when it comes to the business end of the season.
Final words
It's always a big one, the battle of the students. Looking forward to a pretty tense encounter and a big challenge coming our way, travelling up the M1.
