New online exhibitions platform bringing the archives to life

Bond University Library has launched a new digital exhibitions platform, creating an engaging online space to showcase stories from the University's archives, collections and digital resources.

The new platform provides the Library with a powerful way to share exhibitions exploring the people, places, and ideas that have shaped Bond University. Drawing on archival materials, photographs, publications, and other unique collections, the site will bring Bond's history to life while supporting discovery, research and community engagement.

The inaugural exhibition, Our Library History, traces the evolution of Bond University Library from its architectural beginnings in 1987 to its role today as a dynamic learning, research and cultural hub. Through photographs, historical records and curated stories, visitors can explore five defining eras in the Library's development and discover how its spaces, services and collections have evolved alongside the University.

Director, Library Services, Dr Sarah Jansen, said the new platform represents an important step in making Bond's heritage more accessible to the University community and beyond.

"The University Archives preserve the institutional memory of Bond University, capturing the stories, achievements and experiences that have shaped our community over time. This new platform provides a dedicated space to share those stories more broadly and to showcase the rich collections cared for by Library Services."

The exhibition platform has been designed to support a growing program of online exhibitions, creating opportunities for collaboration with student associations, clubs and societies, faculties, professional services and the wider Bond community. Future exhibitions will draw on a diverse range of collections and subjects, highlighting significant moments, people and themes from the University's history.

The launch also marks an important milestone in the ongoing development of the Bond University Archives, which preserve published and unpublished material documenting all aspects of the University's history, regardless of format. Maintained by Library Services, the archives serve as a valuable resource for research, institutional memory and community storytelling.

Visitors to the platform can browse exhibitions online and connect directly with related archival resources and collection materials available through Library Search. The digital format enables the sharing of historical content with audiences wherever they are, while preserving and promoting Bond University's heritage for future generations.
