Bull Sharks confident but not complacent heading into Eagles clash

Bond v Easts Rd 1 2023

Fresh from a week off, the Bull Sharks head to Hugh Courtney Oval to take on the Norths Eagles in round 6 of Queensland Premier Rugby.

Here are three things you need to know heading into the clash.

 Last time they met

The Bull Sharks clipped the Eagles’ wings at The Canal in round 14 last season with a 46-10 win.

Hamish Roberts made his first grade debut, putting on a stunning performance racking up two tries, four conversions and one penalty goal to score 21 of the 46 points.

Roberts has since become a mainstay on the right wing and a key attacking threat for Bond.

Where will it be won

Flyhalf Tyler Campbell said the Bull Sharks would not be complacent when taking on the Eagles at their home ground.

“They will bring plenty of energy. They are a team that, once they get going, can be really hard to stop. They’ll be ready for the clash against us, especially playing at home,” he said.

“The set piece is going to be really important again for us and has become a real strength this season so we will be looking to bring it physically this Saturday.”

Bond sits fourth on the ladder, building momentum as the season progresses.

“The feeling in the group is positive. We were disheartened after the Brothers loss but we have built from that,” said Campbell.

“I have personally noticed how hard the group is on each other in order to improve and be better each week.”

It’ll be a big day for...

...Lachlan Connors the new skipper who continues to show his class on and off the field.

Connors, who scored two tries against Sunnybank in round 4, will be eager to maintain his strong form this weekend in an important match for the Bull Sharks.
