Harry Bell is pushing for selection in the Bull Shark’s Australian Rugby Club Championship side, but there's more on the line then Saturday’s game.

The front-rower is looking to make the position his permanently.

The Bond University John Eales Rugby Excellence Scholar, played in the preliminary final last year but made way for former All Black and Wallaby, Aidan Ross in the grand final against Brothers.

It was a tough pill to swallow for the 21-year-old prop who proved his weight, playing in two different positions â€“ loose head prop and tight head prop – and scoring tries in both the second grade and first grade elimination final victories.

“It was awesome to see the boys get the win at the grand final. Obviously, I would have loved to be out there with them, but they needed a few other boys to get the job done,” Bell said.

“I’m looking forward to this year and hopefully getting a few more reps in and doing the same thing at the end of the year.”

With his name almost inked onto the team list, the former Australian U18 representative says he's excited to play down in his hometown of Sydney.

“I’m feeling a bit nervous about Saturday but I'm excited as well,” he said.

“Warringah have some class players, and they’ve always had a massive culture.”

The Rats defeated Easts 37-24 in Sydney’s Shute Shield to book their place in the Club Championships for a second time.

“Watching the Rats play in the grand final against Easts last year was a pretty cool experience to see how far they've come as a club,” Bell said.

“I remember being a ball boy when I was really young down at Gordon and watching them play.

“I grew up playing with a few of their players so it will be cool to see who they put out on the field, but whatever they do we’re ready for the challenge.”
