Bonding with the Bull Sharks: Wilson Blyth

Name:

Wilson Blyth

Sport/club:

Rugby Union/Bond University Rugby Club

Study/work:

Bachelor of Commerce (John Eales Rugby Excellence Scholarship)

What’s your nickname and how did you get it?

‘Blythy’ - pretty self-explanatory. Not very exciting.

What are you currently streaming?

I’m currently watching the latest season of Ozark on Netflix.

You’ve got the day off, the weather is perfect and you’ve got money in your pocket. Where would we find you?

I’ve recently taken up golf so I would probably be trying to play a round with some mates on a day off training.

Who inspires you the most?

My brother (Reds players Angus Blyth) is a big role model to me. Other than that, I get inspiration from my family, partner and friends/teammates to be better every day.

Who is your nemesis?

I don’t really have any.

What’s your superstition?

Have to wear my Bond budgies on game day.

If you could invite three people to a dinner party, who would they be?

I’m very indecisive so probably wouldn’t be able to narrow it down to only three.

And if you’re the chef, what’s on the menu?

I’ve been enjoying making steak sandwiches lately, so probably that.

What is your greatest sporting memory?

Getting to play with my older brother for the first time for Bond was a pretty special moment for me and my family.

Who is your most annoying teammate and why?

Definitely Spencer Jeans. Most annoying teammate and housemate.
