Declan Manly - completed Mediation Training in September 2022

My background is in commercial disputes, having previously practised as a solicitor and as a Barrister at the Victorian Bar for approximately 30 years, during which time I attended many mediations. The idea to undertake a career pivot to transition from disputes lawyer to a career as a full time mediator had been in the corner of my mind for a few years. So whilst enjoying a career break and moving from inner east Melbourne to regional Victoria I decided to take the first step in obtaining a formal mediator qualification. I intend to re-join the Victorian Bar and practise full time as a mediator.

I chose the Bond University course on the recommendation of others - and it didn't disappoint.

The online course was delivered by a team of knowledgeable, enthusiastic and dedicated presenters and coaches, all of whom were qualified mediators. It was both demanding and enjoyable. It was great to see fellow students from a variety of backgrounds, all keen to develop their mediation skills. My course had a particular international flavour, with attendees dialling in from Vancouver and Singapore. I highly recommend the course.
