It is made up of 12 short, self-paced online modules that build on each other, and can be completed at your own pace via our high-quality learner platform. You will also be provided with a downloadable Founder’s Journal to brainstorm and document your ideas.

    Assessment for this course consists of an online quiz made up of a series of multiple-choice questions to assess your understanding of the content. You must complete and pass the quiz to be eligible for your digital Certificate of Completion.

    Understand the second of three risks that startup founders must manage and identify your startup’s key requirements that will inform it’s feasibility.

    Module 8: Business Model – Viability

    Understand the third of three risks that startup founders must manage and uncover financial considerations important to a successful startup venture.

    Module 9: Growth Engines & Metrics

    Explore the variety of ways that you can expand and scale your startup.

    Module 10: Create Your Brand

    Hear the tips on creating your startup brand identity, from naming to logos and connecting with your customer.

    Module 11: Pitch to Investors

    Weigh the value of pitching to investors as distinct from a customer pitch and get tips on how to create an impactful pitch.

    Module 12: Launch Your Startup

    Explore important considerations for the launching of your startup venture and get advice on timing, communication and style.

  • Who should complete this course?

    Do you have a business idea, but don't know where to start? Want to gain a better understanding of the process and methods required for startup success? Perhaps you're dreaming of launching your own for-profit venture or social enterprise, but don't have the tools to begin? 

    This course has been designed for individuals from all backgrounds who are eager to acquire the fundamental steps and strategies needed to transform a business idea into a thriving startup. There are no prerequisites in terms of experience or prior learning, and no age requirements (as age is merely a number). All you need is an open mindset, a passion for innovation, and a strong desire for success.

  • Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

    1. Identify the difference between a business idea and a business opportunity.
    2. Identify the process of turning customer interview answers into customer insights.
    3. Recognise when a startup’s value proposition matches the needs of its customers.
    4. Recognise the benefits of creating a minimum viable product (MVP) and iterating on the MVP based on customer feedback. 
    5. Identify how to reduce the business model risks of desirability, feasibility, and viability.
    6. Identify characteristics of a good startup pitch.
