About the position

Situated within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Bond University Medical Program is comprised of two sequential degrees, the Bachelor of Medical Studies, and the Doctor of Medicine. The program has full accreditation with the Australian Medical Council and places a strong emphasis on the quality of student experience. The Quality Indicators of Learning and Teaching (QILT) rankings have listed Bond University Medicine number 1 in Australia for student satisfaction with teaching quality, student support and skill development.

With the leadership of senior academic staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of assessment processes within the pre-clinical years (Bachelor of Medical Studies) component of the Medical Program. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the existing Academic Assessment Lead and other Medical Program staff to design and implement authentic assessments and ensure continued development of quality assurance and evaluation in this area. They will also contribute to teaching, research and/or scholarship in relevant areas in collaboration with existing faculty.

This position provides an ideal opportunity for an individual with capacity to promote a culture of excellence in medical education and research. 

About the person:

A PhD qualification in a relevant field is normally required however exceptions to degree requirements may be made for individuals with extraordinary professional competence and assessment experience.

Interested candidates will be able to demonstrate experience in effective teaching methods and will have a developing track record of relevant research/scholarship. They will have high order communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines.

The 60% pro-rata salary for the position is $71, 808 plus 10% superannuation and will be commensurate with skills and experience. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
