Required subjects

Completion of one hundred and twenty credit points (120CP) in eleven (11) subjects within the Bond University Doctor of Physiotherapy program is required for internal credit conversion. External applicants are required to have completed an equivalent AQF level 9 degree with a research component to qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Internship

This doctoral-level research internship will be completed in either the third or fourth year and is designed to develop advanced research skills in one or more of the following physiotherapy practice areas - clinical skills, research translation, administration, leadership, program and policy development, advocacy, education, or theory development. Under the supervision of an academic mentor and in collaboration with an industry partner, students will engage in an independent scholarly study that meets personal learning objectives and makes a contribution to new knowledge in the field. The duration of the Internship is 12 weeks or equivalent to 60 days (450 hours) and provides the foundation for subsequent development of a doctoral thesis.

Thesis

During candidature for the Professional Doctorate of Physiotherapy, the candidate must prepare a doctoral-level thesis which represents a significant contribution to the knowledge or understanding of an aspect of physiotherapy and demonstrates the capacity of the student to carry out independent research at a doctoral level and generate new knowledge.
