What does academic penalty mean?

If you withdraw after the last date to withdraw without academic penalty, you will receive a grade of Withdrawn Fail (WF). This is a failing grade which will be included in the calculation of your Grade Point Average (GPA). If you withdraw after Census Date but before the last date to withdraw without academic penalty, you will receive a grade of Withdrawn (W), which is not included in the calculation of your GPA.
