Architectural atmospheres
Creative Design Studio Atmosphere is one of our three foundational undergraduate studios, each with a particular focus. Atmosphere explores experiential and spatial ideas of place, scale, material, light, sound, smell and touch. Students are introduced to an iterative design process focusing on hand drawing, physical 3D models and full-scale prototypes using the FSD workshop. Design skill workshops on model making, drawing in plan and section, measuring, scale, craft, site and presentation are designed to scaffold learning through making. Students collaboratively work in groups to realise full-scale installations crafting onto elements of the Abedian School building.
