Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science

Where will your degree take you?

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science can lead to roles as an accredited exercise scientist (AES), strength and conditioning coach, athletic/sport program coordinator and various positions as a health and fitness consultant, working in corporate and community settings as well as a wide range of other professional outcomes available to graduates. 

The exercise and sports science workforce play an important role in empowering others to engage in active and healthier lifestyle.  Sports scientists in Australia can work in elite or high-performance sport, while others also work in semi-elite and grassroots level sport.

Private or public sector

Graduates can look for roles in local, state, and federal Government or Non-Government Organisations in health policy/program planning positions.

Education

If graduates are primarily interested in education and community health, they can seek jobs in schools or early learning environments as health educators; aged care in healthy ageing roles; or in community health and hospitals in health promotion roles.

Sport and fitness

If graduates are primarily interested in sport and fitness, they can seek roles in sporting teams and events as a sports coach or sports trainer, or in fitness centres and gymnasiums as a fitness instructor, trainer or centre manager.

Research

The program can also lead into research or academia, and graduates may wish to progress into sport research.

Professional accreditation

This program is fully accredited with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and its subjects align with Exercise Science Standards. Graduates of Bond’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science will be recognised in industry after registering as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES).
