Mr David Baxby, our ninth Chancellor

DB

"The landscape of higher education, business, the professions, and moreover, global society has changed much since my undergraduate days. The world of tech, artificial intelligence, big data, modern communications and societal expectations is much more complex today.

As such, it is important we must be adaptive to these fast-changing times and that the University’s programs remain relevant, teaching practical skills that importantly make them the first choice of employers.

I believe our unique selling proposition is the bespoke support we can provide to each and every student. We will never be the biggest, the broadest, the cheapest, the most digital. But we can be the best at recognising every student is unique and to tailor the education we provide to that uniqueness.

I have witnessed first hand how the University has changed, and how it has developed since my days as one of the early students. I am very proud of the progression of my alma mater. However, I am even more excited about its future potential.

On behalf of all the current and past members of the Chancellor’s Circle, I invite you to take part in our future and join us in fostering the next generation of Bondies."

Introduction to The Chancellor's Circle

Supporting a new generation of Bondies

Generous donations from our community are what help us to sustain our strong tradition of educational excellence. The Chancellor’s Circle offers an opportunity for the greater Bond community to directly influence the lives of current students and academic staff by funding essential programs and encouraging equity.

Each year, donations to the Chancellor’s Circle Appeal benefit a range of programs and funds.

The Chancellor’s Circle focus areas for 2024 are:

Your gift of $6,000 or more will ensure the continued success of the Bond student community and the institution we hold so dear, as well as reinforcing Bond’s position as a trailblazer in Australian tertiary education.

“University education is about so much more than simply earning a degree.”

Meet Indigenous Scholarship recipient Jazmin Grant

“As a young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman I’ve witnessed the various injustices within our legal system, and as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to pursue a legal career.

“Opportunities for young women in law here and around the world have always been an issue.

“Bond has given me the platform, resources, and opportunities to understand the law by providing a high-quality learning experience characterised by a professional and practical emphasis.”
