Diploma of Health Sciences

Program overview

Whether you’re looking for a pathway to an undergraduate degree or contemplating a career change, Bond University College’s Diploma programs are the ideal steppingstone to university studies.

To help you manage your transition to study, our flexible program allows you to customise your subject load – starting with one or two subjects part-time and building to full-time as your confidence grows. Alternatively, you can complete the diploma in just eight months studying full-time and start your chosen bachelor’s degree at the third semester mark.

The Diploma of Health Sciences is a direct pathway into undergraduate studies in health sciences, biomedical science, exercise and sports science, and exercise and sports performance. It offers a broad foundation in biological and chemical sciences where you will develop an understanding of the anatomical, molecular, and physiological processes of human health and function.

One of the key benefits of opting to start your university studies with a Diploma is the extra support Bond University College offers. You’ll be well prepared for academic study in your first few weeks with an intensive skills program that covers essay writing, critical reading, study techniques, time management and more; there’s more face-to-face teaching time in small group classes; and you’ll have access to one-on-one tutoring, workshops and targeted study help through the Academic Skills Centre.

"In this program, I valued the support offered, the hands-on aspects, the extra resources provided and the Beyond Bond component. The staff made the learning experience enjoyable and pushed me out of my comfort zone. The practical laboratory experiences and the additional resources such as the Academic Skills Centre really helped me to succeed. While Beyond Bond is optional for Diplomas, I found that it really added to my university experience and pushed me to be more involved at Bond."

"What I loved about my degree was the opportunities provided at an early stage, this further enhanced my interest within Health Science & Medicine. Smaller classes also gave me the opportunity to connect with my lecturers and tutors. Bond not only focuses on academic excellence, but through Beyond bond they help students develop. Individuals are given the privilege to gain skills and experience. My advice for future Bondies is to embrace the experience and everything bond has to offer."
