Study Health and Biomedical Sciences in Australia at Bond University

The September semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format with a mixture of on-campus, mixed mode and remote classes. All students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional, personalised learning experience regardless of their location. For students who are able to attend campus, we are working toward the resumption of face-to-face classes especially for small group instruction such as tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.

The Diploma of Health Sciences offers a broad foundation in biological and chemical sciences and is a pathway to bachelor programs.

Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences offers guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Health Sciences at Bond

Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences program guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Health Sciences programs, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their degree. Students are advised to check degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit.

The Diploma of Health Sciences offers a broad foundation in biological and chemical sciences where you will gain an understanding of basic and applied sciences, including the anatomical, molecular and physiological processes of human health and function. The Diploma of Health Sciences offers a broad foundation in biological and chemical sciences where you will gain an understanding of basic and applied sciences, including the anatomical, molecular and physiological processes of human health and function. You will develop technical scientific and research skills using some of the latest research equipment, which can be applied across a broad range of industries. The Diploma has two pathways a) Biomedical Science (Pre-Health) and b) Exercise and Sports Science. Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences program with a Biomedical Science (Pre-Health) pathway guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Health Sciences programs, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their degree.  Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences program with an Exercise and Sports Science pathway guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Performance with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their degree.  Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences program with an Exercise and Sports Science pathway guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a possible 60 credit points credited towards their degree. Students are advised to check degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit. *BCAS01-020 Academic Skills is a compulsory 0 credit point subject that provides you with core academic skills including referencing, academic writing and time management. It must be completed in your first semester (weeks 1 to 5).

The below fees are based on an average per semester cost, fees may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester:

  • 2020 fees: $15,680 per semester (based on 4 subjects per semester)
  • 2021 fees: $16,240 per semester (based on 4 subjects per semester)

When considering the fees associated with your studies, keep in mind that Bond’s accelerated schedule means you can finish your degree sooner and be out in the workforce up to a year earlier than if you went to another university.

This time saving also represents a substantial reduction in accommodation and living costs, plus a full year of extra earnings.

Domestic students

Entry into the Diploma of Health Sciences requires the successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent (OP 16 - 18/ATAR 64.95 to 60.00). Bond University College offers Tertiary Preparation programs (Bond University College Foundation Program and Diploma Preparation Program for students who do not currently have the required academic qualifications.

  • Work experience - ANZCO Skill level 3 for 1 year full-time equivalent
  • Incomplete Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation (passing grades in 2 subjects)
  • STAT result of 144
  • OP ineligible Schedule equivalent rank to OP 16 - 18

International students

International academic entry requirements.

English language requirements

  • Pass in Bond University College EAP Level 2, or
  • IELTS 6.0 (no subscore less than 5.5)
